IMT EMERGES FROM CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- At a hearing held in Federal Bankruptcy Court on Jan. 11, Interactive Media Technologies Inc. received confirmation for its Plan of Reorganization. After nearly two years, IMT has reorganized the company, developed a new sales strategy and is ready to serve markets for multimedia and interactive video with a planned stream of new product offerings.
In March 1992, IMT filed for protection under Chapter 11. Since then, the company greatly reduced its size and cost of operations, retaining the core engineering team with the intent to reorganize and bring its innovations to market.
Alan Ayars, president and chief executive officer of IMT, provided the vision and optimism which kept the team focused on defining a new business strategy. While many would have given up, the IMT team persisted to further develop its products and identify its markets. "As we are about to present the first product to the market, I am encouraged by the quality and commitment of the team at IMT," commented Ayars. "IMT intends to deliver products focused on the real world needs of the market."
The newly reorganized IMT intends to launch its first new product in March 1994, an easy-to-use, turnkey, Video Post Production solution using its IMTX 8000 as the controller and IMT's proprietary IBM PC compatible software as the user interface. IMT has plans for a series of follow-on products to be released thereafter. The initial products will continue to utilize the capabilities of the IMTX 8000 Media Integrator which was first released by IMT in 1991.
Interactive Media Technologies designs, manufactures and markets state-of-the-art hardware and software multimedia products for use in corporate and educational environments. Its products are in use by military, private industry, network television and educational institutions in a number of applications including business presentations, institutional and corporate training programs. IMT presently sells its products through a direct sales organization.
