IMRS REPORTS REVENUES AND EARNINGS FOR ITS FOURTH QUARTER AND
 FISCAL YEAR 1992
STAMFORD, Conn., July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- IMRS Inc. (NASDAQ: IMRS), the leading developer of network-based business reporting software, today reported consolidated revenues of $16,913,000 and net income of $2,301,000, or 31 cents per share for its fourth quarter ended June 30, 1992. Revenues rose 44 percent from $11,743,000 for the same period of fiscal 1991. Net income rose 90 percent from $1,209,000, or 21 cents per share for the fourth quarter of fiscal 1991.
Revenues for fiscal year 1992 were $45,996,000 and net income was $4,202,000, or 61 cents per share. Revenues and net income increased 34 percent and 59 percent, respectively, from $34,324,000 and $2,651,000, or 46 cents per share for the prior fiscal year.
"We are very pleased with the strength of our fourth quarter business, particularly in light of the dramatic changes that are occurring in some segments of the software industry," said James A. Perakis, president and CEO at IMRS. "Our ability to provide complete, enterprise-wide business reporting solutions on the right platform -- networked PCs -- has contributed to our success. Additionally, the IMRS direct sales force and strong support capabilities, along with a commitment to continued development of Windows-based applications, provide an ideal combination for serving our corporate clients."
Version 2.0 of IMRS OnTrack, the company's Microsoft Windows-based graphical information access application, was released in the fourth quarter with Interactive/MC, a major new capability that provides live access to Micro Control, IMRS' business and financial reporting software product.
Another enhancement to IMRS OnTrack released in the fourth quarter was OnRequest, which provides corporate users with a single view of data from a broad range of sources, including many SQL-compliant databases. OnRequest was developed as a result of a partnership agreement with Channel Computing, Inc., that allowed IMRS to incorporate the Forest & Trees product into IMRS OnTrack. Executive Forum, which integrates Lotus Development Corporation's Lotus Notes into IMRS OnTrack, is the result of another such strategic alliance.
Several publications recognized IMRS during the quarter. Business Week listed IMRS as No. 28 in its ranking of the "100 Best Small Corporations," while Inc. Magazine named the company to the Inc. 100 list of "Fastest Growing Small Public Companies." In addition, Software Magazine included IMRS among the "Top 100 Independent Software Companies."
The fourth quarter also saw IMRS expanding its international presence by opening sales and support offices in France and Germany and establishing IMRS plc as a wholly owned subsidiary in the United Kingdom. Effective July 1, 1992, IMRS plc assumed responsibility for the customers and operations of the UK-based Sema Financial Management Systems group, a unit of Sema Group Systems Ltd. and previously a distributor of IMRS products.
"The addition of these European offices further strengthens our international sales and support capability and positions us well for future growth," Perakis said.
IMRS, incorporated in 1981, develops, markets, and supports a family of network-based business reporting software products for enterprise-wide applications.
IMRS Inc. common stock is traded in the NASDAQ National Market system under the symbol IMRS.
