PEACHES Geldof could face a criminal probe after identifying two "sick, horrible women" who allowed their babies to be abused by disgraced rock star Ian Watkins.

The 24-year-old columnist and TV presenter posted their names on Twitter after reading them on a US website.

They remained visible for several hours until they were removed.

The daughter of Boomtown Rats star Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates has more than 160,000 online followers.

It is a serious criminal offence to identify the victims of sex abuse.

Lostprophets singer Watkins, branded a "determined and committed paedophile", pleaded guilty at Cardiff on Tuesday to a string of sex offences, including the attempted rape of a baby.

The 36-year-old, from Pontypridd, South Wales, plotted the attacks with two mothers, aged 21 and 24, who also admitted child abuse. All three will be sentenced on December 18.

ACTION

A spokeswoman for the Attorney General said: "We understand the names of the co-defendants were posted online.

"As has been previously reported, the co-defendants were the mothers of the victims who have automatic lifetime anonymity. Publication of names or information which can lead to their being identified is a criminal offence."

South Wales Police last night said it was in talks with the Crown Prosecution Service. Det Chief Insp Peter Doyle said: "We will take action if appropriate."

On Wednesday, security guard James Baines, 27, who tweeted images purporting to be of James Bulger's killer Jon Venables as an adult, was spared jail at the High Court in London and given a 14-month suspended sentence for contempt.
