IMM'S CUSTOMER BASE EXPANDS IN MEXICO
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- International Mobile

Machines Corporation (NASDAQ: IMMC) announced today that the Secretary of Communications and Transport (SCT) of Mexico has purchased an Ultraphone digital radiotelephone system for the State of Michoacan.
To date, IMM's $20 million program in Mexico has been with one single customer, Telefonos de Mexico S.A. de C.V. (Telmex). SCT now becomes IMM's second customer in Mexico.
"We are extremely pleased with this decision by SCT," said William E. Ronca III, vice president, Latin American Region, "since we know that they have plans and funding for a major rural telephone upgrade program to complement Telmex's country-wide program. The SCT program," according to Ronca, "calls for an estimated 100,000 rural lines to be installed or upgraded over the next five years, while Telmex's plans call for installation or upgrade of 8,000 additional rural communities over the next few years. IMM will work in concert with both Telmex and SCT on these rural programs.
"Our international markets continue to expand," said Brian Kiernam, president of IMM's World Trade Corporation. "It is clear that our product now has the same international reputation for quality and service as it does in the United States."
IMM's distributor, ROLM Telecomunicaciones S.A. de C.V., installs, maintains and supports the Ultraphone system in Mexico.
