IMHSN wins 1ST AKU Inter-Nursing Tapeball Cricket Trophy.

KARACHI, March 19, 2012 (Balochistan Times): The 1st AKU All Karachi Inter-School of Nursing Tapeball Cricket Tournament concluded yesterday. Islamic Mission Hospital School of Nursing (IMHSN) defeated Ilmiya Institute of Nursing (IION) in the final by 05 runs at AKU Cricket ground. The Chief Guest Dr. Rozina Karmaliani, Interim Dean, AKU School of Nursing distributed the prizes amongst the students in presence of Riaz Akbar Contractor, Chief Organizer & Manager, Sports Centre, AKU, Hanif M. Sharif, Sr. Manager, Administrative Services, AKU and M. Nizam, Media Coordinator. In her address, Dr. Rozina congratulated the Winning and Runner-up teams and emphasized that Nursing student with their stressful and hectic studies should take out more time for physical activities and indulge in healthy sports which are a main source of the stress reliever. She appreciated the efforts of organizers specially Riaz Akbar Contractor, Chairman, Tournament Organizing Committee and Manager AKU Sports Centre for organizing excellent events for the nursing students and emphasized that such tournaments should be carried out on a regular basis and also try to organize these kind of activities for female nursing students. The Winning Trophy was presented to IMHSN Captain Ismail Khan, Runner-Up Trophy to IION Skipper S. M. Umar. Player of the Tournament was given to Ishaq Masih of IION (51 runs & 13 wickets), Best Batsman Award was presented to Ismail Khan of IMHSN (146 runs) and Best Bowler Award to Wajid Ali of IMHSN (10 wickets).
