 COSMETIC CHEMICALS BUSINESS TO INTERNATIONAL SPECIALTY PRODUCTS
 NORTHBROOK, Ill., April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- IMCERA Group Inc. (NYSE: IMA) announced today that its Mallinckrodt Specialty Chemicals Company of Chesterfield, Mo., has sold the Van Dyk cosmetic chemicals business to International Specialty Products, Inc. (NYSE: ISP). The purchase price was not disclosed.
 Established in 1904, Van Dyk is a leading supplier of sunscreens used in cosmetics and lotions, and pearlescent pigments for blushes, eye shadows and lipsticks. Van Dyk also manufactures and sells a broad spectrum of specialty emollients and emulsifiers.
 The Van Dyk headquarters and manufacturing operations are in Belleville, N.J., and employ more than 60 people. Mallinckrodt Specialty Chemicals has owned the Van Dyk operation since 1982.
 Mallinckrodt Specialty Chemicals, with fiscal 1991 net sales and operating earnings of $504 million and $61 million, respectively, is a producer of high-quality specialty and fine chemicals, serving the pharmaceutical, industrial and laboratory markets worldwide.
 IMCERA, a Fortune 300 company with fiscal 1991 net sales of more than $1.6 billion, has two other international, technology-based businesses -- Mallinckrodt Medical of St. Louis, and Pitman-Moore of Lake Forest, Ill.
