IMATCH 3.2 DIGITAL IMAGE MANAGEMENT FOR WINDOWS UNVEILED.

The new release of the digital image management solution IMatch brings dedicated tools for photo professionals and ambitious digital camera users, including native support for digital camera raw formats, improved workflow, and many new productivity features.

Photools.com has released IMatch version 3.2, a complete digital image management suite that offers any easy and affordable way to archive, manage and mine digital image collections. Version 3.2's new productivity features make it a value-packed program perfect for photographers, graphic artists, web designers, and digital camera users. The program combines an easy to use interface with a feature set normally found in high-end image management systems.

IMatch is built on secure and scalable system architecture, with an Open System approach. Using an XML-based metadata repository, IMatch allows users to associate all kinds of information with the images in a database. A variety of import and export modules enables IMatch to exchange data with all types of applications. IMatch natively supports all important metadata formats, such as XML, IPTC, EXIF and a variety of proprietary formats for both image attributes and metadata.

IMatch has built-in support for the important digital camera RAW formats like Canon CRW, Nikon NEF, Minolta MRW, Fuji RAF, and Olympus ORF. These proprietary RAW formats, and the embedded EXIF metadata, guarantee the highest possible quality.

With digital camera hobbyists taking hundreds of photos each month, applications without the strong database backend of IMatch have a hard time handling the volume. IMatch can handle hundreds of thousands of images, even on a normal PC.

IMatch's unique dynamic category concept extends the static keywording concept used by most other systems with a much cleaner and more flexible approach. Users can create multi-hierarchical virtual views on their image collections, independent from the actual physical storage location of the images. Users now are able to create categories using simple drag and drop commands, based on image content, topic, theme, project, and customer - all at the same time. Using formulas, dynamic categories can be easily built by combining other categories with Boolean operations like AND, OR, and NOT.

IMatch special strengths show up when it comes to handling images on removable media like CD-ROM or DVD. All features of IMatch that don't require direct access to the original image work perfectly even when the images are off-line. IMatch automatically prompts the user to insert the correct media, supplying all information required to identify and insert the correct disk.

The outstanding productivity feature of IMatch is the built-in scripting language. Using this simple yet powerful BASIC language, even entry-level users are able to automate frequent tasks, customize the IMatch front-end, and add specific functionality not contained in the original product. Experienced users can create scripts to produce HTML pages, XML documents, and to interface with databases, and other applications available under Windows that support OLE automation. IMatch hence serves as a central solution for creating sophisticated custom applications in all areas of digital image management.

A complete package of scripts is shipped with IMatch, performing tasks from modifying EXIF date and time stamps to importing data from other image management and browser-style applications.

The integrated template-driven and customizable Web Photo Gallery creator allows users to create fully functional web sites, including navigation features based IPTC, EXIF and property data. The Photo Gallery Creator fully supports the IMatch variables concept and hence enables users to display all information available about an image (like EXIF information) directly on the web site.

IMatch 3.2 runs under Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP, and costs USD $49.95 for a single-user license. Contact sales@photools.com for details.
