The media/marketing company IMARK Corp has selected Computer Associates International Inc's (CA's) Jasmine ii e-business platform to support eHighwayman.com, its services portal for the North American trucking industry.
eHighwayman.com will provide drivers with information services, such as driver safety data, road conditions and weather forecasts, personal/entertainment content and secure online business applications. IMARK plans to enable drivers to access the portal via satellite and terrestrial links to PC.
IMARK intends to use CA's Jasmine platform to add intelligence to a range of applications, content, web sites, e-mail systems and other resources that make up eHighwayman.com.
In addition, IMARK and CA are exploring the utilisation of CA's Neugents neural network-based intelligence technology. One scenario the companies are considering employs Neugents to assist in predicting the most efficient routes - those with the lowest fuel prices and fewest road hazards - for a truck driver to take.
