IMAGERY ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT WITH FOLIO; PROVIDES IMAGING, FAX AND OCR SERVICES TO FOLIO VIEWS 3.0

BEDFORD, Mass., Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Imagery Software, Inc., a subsidiary of Eastman Kodak Company, today announced a licensing agreement with Folio Corporation providing integrated imaging, fax and optical character recognition (OCR) services to Folio VIEWS 3.0, Folio's next generation Personal Electronic Publishing Platform.
Imagery's image capture, display and manipulation services will be packaged and delivered with Folio VIEWS 3.0 for Windows. Integrated scanning, fax and OCR services will be implemented as separate modules to provide seamless means of capturing, communicating and converting paper-based information into Folio VIEWS infobases. Folio plans to support Image-Enabled NetWare, which is being jointly developed by Novell, Inc. and Imagery, to provide a powerful client/server imaging solution.
"The Folio agreement signals the growing acceptance of imaging as a necessary feature of desktop computing products," said David Hanson, Imagery's vice president of business development. "The integration of imaging at the client combined with powerful back-end services delivered by Novell will give Folio customers a powerful client/server imaging solution at a fraction of the price of a high-end imaging system."
Folio will be responsible for the sales, marketing and support of Folio VIEWS 3.0 and the additional imaging modules.
"Much of the information available today is more useful and easily managed when it is presented in electronic form," said Curt Allen, Folio's vice president of marketing. "Now with Imagery's services, our users can capture and access information, whether it is electronic or paper-based and greatly expand the types of data they are able to keep in their infobases. Infobases can now include high-quality color images and multi-page image documents with hand written annotations and image enhancements."
