IMAGERY AND WORDPERFECT CORPORATION DELIVER ADVANCED DOCUMENT IMAGING CAPABILITIES TO WORDPERFECT OFFICE USERS

SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Imagery Software, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE: EK), announced today at Groupware '93, a marketing agreement with WordPerfect Corporation to add advanced imaging capabilities to WordPerfect Office 4.0, WordPerfect's cross-platform, electronic communication software. Under the terms of agreement, the two companies will jointly market Imagery's Full-View(TM), a powerful new shrink-wrapped image-enabler that integrates with WordPerfect Office and any Windows application that supports Object Linking and Embedding (OLE). Full-View enables users to capture and use scanned, faxed and Kodak's Photo CD images. Robust capabilities add color, gray-scale and black and white imaging to the desktop and allows users to manipulate, annotate and convert image data to text. With Full-View and WordPerfect Office, users will be able to use and communicate black and white and color images across platforms and networks as easily as text information.
"The relationship with WordPerfect Corporation signifies another major milestone in the document imaging market as it moves beyond traditional dedicated imaging systems to image-enabled applications," said David Hanson, Imagery's vice president of business development. "Full-View leverages Imagery's expertise in workgroup and network imaging technology to provide WordPerfect Office users with robust and affordable imaging capabilities on the desktop."
Imagery's Full-View is a full-featured document imaging application designed for capturing, accessing and managing paper-based information and color images locally and in a networked environment.
"WordPerfect Office and Imagery's Full-View offer unique workgroup communications tools and when combined the two provide a more complete desktop solution," said David Clare, senior director of marketing, workgroup applications at WordPerfect Corporation. "Imagery's document imaging capabilities provide users with a more effective means of using paper- and fax-based information, that when combined with WordPerfect Office's advanced information distribution services, allow for a more effective means of sharing electronic images."
Operating in the Microsoft Windows environment, Imagery's Full-View supports Microsoft's Object Linking and Embedding to allow a variety of Windows applications to easily add image data into electronic mail messages, database records or documents. Applications that benefit from document imaging typically include general office communications, accounting and tax applications, customer service, human resources, sales and marketing, records management and workflow.
