IISRP postpones meeting in China. (Meetings).

The International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers (IISRP) announced the postponement of its 44th Annual Meeting in Beijing, China, scheduled for May 19-22. The new dates for the meeting are September 15-18.

"Recent relevant information about the outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in China led us to take this extraordinary move to postpone the meeting" said James L. McGraw, managing director and CEO of the IISRP.

He added that the move is extraordinary because it represents the first time in the IISRP's 44-year history that the association has postponed an annual meeting. McGraw said he expects the September meeting to be very similar to the original May program.

The IISRP is an international not-for-profit association with 49 corporate members domiciled in 21 countries who produce 95% of the world's supply of synthetic rubber. Incorporated in 1960 and headquartered in Houston, TX, the Institute supports offices in London and Tokyo. The IISRP can be reached at (713) 783-7511.
