IHS and Citation Extend Leadership with Environmental, Safety & Health Management Solution.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. & SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- New ESH Management Solution Release Builds on IHS and Citation's Commitment of Enabling Customers' Compliance and Safety Initiatives to Go 'Beyond the Ordinary'

Information Handling Services Inc. (IHS - www.ihs.com) and Citation Publishing, Inc. (www.citation.com) today announced the immediate availability of the ESH (Environmental, Safety & Health) Management Solution. The new ESH Management Solution delivers comprehensive online, one-stop access to current and historical worldwide environmental, safety, health and transportation laws, regulations, codes and standards from federal, state and international sources.

"This announcement from IHS and Citation is an example of continued positive results for organizations in R&D intensive industries resulting from the spread of a trend we've noted for some time now," said Leigh Watson Healy, chief analyst, Outsell Inc. "Publishers of technical and engineering content are seeking to aggregate their content with complementary content types through partnerships or acquisition, and to deliver this content directly into users' decision-making workflows."

The ESH Management Solution is an online regulatory management tool that enables customers to make informed risk assessment decisions and to meet or exceed compliance requirements. This solution bridges the gap between regulations and standards. The ESH Management Solution streamlines access to the massive amounts of vital information required to keep current, and includes updated best industry practices to help maintain compliance and safer working environments for employees.

The ESH Management Solution incorporates intellectual property from the IHS Specs & Standards Service and the Citation CyberRegs(TM) products. IHS is now a recognized distributor of CyberRegs(TM). The ESH Management Solution is designed for manufacturers in architecture/engineering/construction (AEC), energy and petrochemical, electronics, government and government-related industries. The new product delivers the following breakthrough functionality and benefits:

--Full-text ESH (Environmental, Safety & Health) and transportation laws and regulations are currently available in the following countries: U.S. including state-level, Mexico, Canada including provinces, Australia, Brazil, Spain, UK, France, Germany, Poland and the European Union. China and Russia will be available mid-year.

--ESH industry-related laws, regulations and standards are available in custom collections that are automatically updated and searchable by document number, keyword or organization.

--Text summaries provide quick overviews without having to read the information in its entirety.

--RegMatch(TM) enables the quick viewing of an entire list of regulatory documents related to the context of any Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) or U.S. States' section. A simple click launches a full document search capability, which is based on a customizable list of ranked keywords.

--Change Tracking System(TM) allows customers to easily track changes to regulations by viewing older versions of various regulatory documents, and see an advanced comparison between a current document and an archived document (or compare two archived versions) in a detailed, color-coded display that shows additions, deletions, and modifications.

--Based on personal user profiles, email notification services deliver an email when any selected law, regulation or standard changes, expediting awareness and changes in laws that may impact a company's processes or programs.

--Links to referenced standards from within regulations via the CyberRegs(TM) upgrade, CyberRegs Connect(TM).

"IHS and Citation have worked together to deliver new functionality and benefits to our customers," said Jeff Tarr, president and COO, IHS. "We've remained laser focused on delivering innovative solutions that enable companies to go 'beyond the ordinary' with their compliance and safety initiatives."

"This is proof of IHS and Citation's drive for innovation and our eagerness to collaborate with customers to optimize their internal processes," said Kevin L. Spence, president, Citation Publishing. "This solution is also further evidence of our commitment to deliver industry-leading environmental, safety and health management solutions, which enables customers' quicker interaction between regulations and standards that can lead to faster responses on their part."
