IHC orders to release Axact CEO Shoaib Sheikh on bail.
Islamabad -- Islamabad High Court has ordered to release Axact CEO Shoaib Sheikh, convicted in Axact Fake Degree Scandal case Shoaib Sheikh on bail after suspending his punishment.
Justice Athar Minallah of IHC took up the plea filed by Shoaib Sheikh against the verdict of district and session judge Islamabad for hearing on Tuesday.
Petitioner's Counsel Raja Rizwan Abbasi took the plea that prison term of his client should be suspended till decision of appeal against trial court punishment .
Counsel asked the court that there is grave legal lacuna in the decision of trial court.
On it Justice Athar Minallah remarked, 'There was no complainant in the case, FIA says that fraud has been committed with millions of people but no one has not lodged a complaint in this regard.
Judge further remarked, 'this is not proved in any way that degree is fake.
Those two witnesses that have been presented by the FIA, are also not the complainants.
The court while ordering to release Shoaib Sheikh on bail directed him to furnish bail sureties of Rs 5, 00,000.
