IGS Joins Lumos Partnership Program to Accelerate the Deployment of Management Solutions.

Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 13, 2000

Lumos Technologies, the leader in broadband network management solutions, and IGS, provider of advanced software development and integration solutions, announced today that they have formed a partnership that enables network equipment vendors to dramatically accelerate their time-to-market and substantially reduce their development costs.

By joining Lumos' Partnership Program, IGS will combine its in-depth custom software development expertise with Lumos' optimal performance element management solution, the Telecom Management Server (TMS).

Lumos' TMS is fully extensible, allowing it to be easily customized to meet the requirements of specific technologies or network elements. However, some network element vendors may have limited development resources, thus hampering the extension or customization of their solution. By joining the Lumos Partnership Program, IGS will assist these NE vendors in rapidly and efficiently extending the TMS.

"The partnership with Lumos allows us to leverage our extensive EMS/NMS development expertise with the Lumos TMS," said Jonathan Bein, Chairman, IGS, Inc. "Historically, equipment manufacturers have focused on a craft interface and built an EMS only as an afterthought. Today's network equipment marketplace requires a solid EMS with appropriate northbound interfaces into the NMS layer. We believe that the Lumos TMS combined with our expertise in EMS/NMS solutions provides a platform that enables NE manufacturers to gain competitive advantage through EMS and agent software."
