IFDA Scores Despite Seinfeld.

NEW YORK--The keynote dinner kicking off this year's IFDA National Conference here last week was up against some tough competition--the final episode of Seinfeld.

Still, interior designers and home furnishings makers turned out in good number. Dan Bonini, vice president of marketing for Waverly and president of IFDA's New York Chapter, said, "The turnout here is an indication of the soul and strength of IFDA. It is an incredible turnout considering we are up against the last Seinfeld episode.

"So, instead of a long speech--yada, yada, yada, yada," continued Bonini in his best "Jerry."

The opening night also included greetings from Commissioner Luis Tormenta of the Department of Design & Construction. He claimed Mayor Rudolph Guiliani could not make it because he was appearing in the final Seinfeld show.
