IES hosts 'light + seniors'.

The IES hosted its first research symposium titled "Light + Seniors" on March 6-7 in Washington D.C. Over 125 attended and learned about current research investigating how lighting can be used to maintain or improve vision, mental health and quality of life in the aging population. The two-day symposium featured general sessions and poster presentations delivered by an esteemed group of professionals from diverse disciplines. Topics covered the areas of vision, lighting's impact on health, human factors, lighting and interior design for seniors, regulations and public policy. Proceedings will also be available.

In addition to the IES, the following sponsor partners supported the symposium: American Lighting Association, International Association of Lighting Designers, National Institute of Building Sciences, National Electrical Manufacturers Association, The Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education Inc. and Underwriters Laboratories.
