SOUTH RIVER, N.J., March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- IDM Environmental Corp. (Nasdaq: IDMC, IDMCW) has entered into a Chinese-Foreign Equity Joint Venture Contract with China National Packaging and Materials Co. Xuzhou General Paper Mill (a leading Chinese paper manufacturer located in the People's Republic of China) to acquire, own and operate a paper mill to produce liner board and other paper products. It is anticipated that the paper mill will be operational within one year. Once on line, the paper mill is expected to produce 100,000 to 200,000 tons per year of coated craft liner board. IDM has also received a Letter of Intent from China National Packaging to supply, relocate, construct and start-up the paper mill project. I addition to the 1996 revenues associated with this project, which are expected to exceed $25 million, IDM has a minority equity position in the Joint Venture which is expected to generate ongoing revenues.

IDM also announced the award of several new contracts with revenues exceeding $4 million:

The State of Massachusetts has awarded IDM a contract for the environmental remediation, demolition, treatment and disposal of (lead) contaminated soils at a site in Egremont, MA. Through its partnership with SOLUCORP, IDM will employ the Molecular Bonding System (MBS) Technology to treat the contaminated soils and render them non- hazardous.

Lockheed - Martin awarded IDM a contract to perform the decontamination and decommissioning of concrete cooling tower basins and several other auxiliary structures and facilities at the DOE sites in Oak Ridge, TN.

American Cyanamid has awarded IDM a contract for the remediation and demolition of several process facilities at their Bound Brook, New Jersey site.

Sunshine Biscuits has awarded IDM a contract for the abatement, dismantlement and demolition of several ovens at their Kansas City, MO plant.

Allied - Signal Corporation has extended IDM's contract for remediation, decontamination and demolition services at the LCP Chemical Superfund Site in Brunswick, GA.

The Balfour Town and Country Company, a leading jewelry manufacturer, has awarded IDM a contract for the complete remediation, demolition and waste disposal of several buildings at its facilities in the Boston, MA area.

IDM continues to see a very large and expanding market for the relocation of plants and technology to the growing nations in the Pacific Rim, Latin American and the Developing Countries of the World. IDM is the leader among the very few companies in the world capable of meeting the needs of this growing market.
