IDB & EMBRATEL SIGN AGREEMENT FOR INT'L PHONE SERVICE TO BRAZIL; PACT BRINGS TOTAL TO 46 DIRECT OPERATING AGREEMENTS

 NEW YORK, July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- IDB Communications Group Inc. (NASDAQ: IDBX) announced today that the company's private line and international long distance telephone unit, IDB WORLDCOM, has signed an Operating Agreement with Empresa Brasileira de Telecomunicacoes S.A. (Embratel).
 IDB WORLDCOM's agreement with Embratel, signed by Michael P. Sauer, vice president, International Relations for IDB WORLDCOM, and Edson Soffiatti, director of International Operations for Embratel, enables IDB WORLDCOM to provide international telephone services to Brazil.
 IDB expects to generate at least 4 million minutes of phone traffic from the United States to Brazil in the first year of the agreement. The volume of return telephone traffic from Brazil is expected to make a valuable economic contribution. Revenue garnered from the outbound traffic for IDB is expected to exceed $7 million in the first year.
 This is the 46th Direct Operating Agreement that IDB WORLDCOM has signed incorporating its World Communications Inc. and TRT Communications entities, and definitively solidifies IDB as a global telecommunications provider. Other countries that IDB has signed agreements with during the past year include Azerbaijan, Argentina, Venezuela, Hong Kong, Mexico, Colombia, Spain, Israel, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
