ICT(R) EUROPE ANNOUNCES EXPANDED 86-CHANNEL LINE-UP FOR DIGITAL MUSIC EXPRESS(R); DIGITAL AUDIO LEADER OFFERS THE MOST MUSIC IN THE WORLD

LOS ANGELES, June 14 /PRNewswire/ -- International Cablecasting Technologies Inc. (ICT)(R) Europe today unveiled a new, expanded 86-channel line-up for Digital Music Express(R) in Europe, offering international cable operators the greatest number of channels and the most music available in the digital audio world. The new DMX 86-channel line-up was announced by Jerold H. Rubinstein, chairman and chief executive officer of ICT.
Calling it "the most diverse music programming strategy in the industry," Rubinstein noted that DMX's expanded channel line-up will provide European cable operators with the flexibility to locally customize their DMX channel offerings in response to the musical tastes and demands of individual regions and markets.
According to Rubinstein, the first phase of the planned DMX line-up expansion will double the service's program offerings from the current 30 to 60 music formats by October 1993. DMX will add an additional 26 channels by the end of the year.
Included in the new European channel line-up is the addition of such specialized international music formats as World Beat, Flemish Music, Irish Folk, Flamenco, Polkas, Chanteuses, Hebrew Traditional and Hebrew Hits, Turkish, Indian, and additional programming blocks featuring expanded music offerings from Germany, France, the Netherlands and the Nordic countries.
"At DMX, we are, and always will be, a music programming service," Rubinstein noted. "As we move further forward into narrowcasting and niche programming, we reaffirm our vision of DMX as a music service dedicated to offering subscribers more choice, more variety and more of the music they want -- wherever they are."
Richard Cohen, president of ICT Europe, added, "We are extremely pleased to be able to expand our DMX `music library in the sky' to encompass a full range of international offerings. Now, regardless of the native language or ethnic make-up of individual regions, cable operators can easily tailor their DMX channel line-up to satisfy the musical tastes of their subscribers."
ICT Europe is owned by U.S.-based companies ICT (NASDAQ: TUNE) and Tele-Communications Inc. (TCI). ICT provides broadband cable audio programming for the U.S. cable, residential and commercial markets. The DMX music service features CD-quality music, interruption-free, 24 hours a day to homes and businesses.
