ICE-CREAM dream; Why stick to a neutral kitchen when you can have a pretty pastel one?

Make it work for you

Yellow was made for kitchens.

It's uplifting, zesty and fun, perfect for making you feel creative while you're cooking.

Don't go overboard.

Avoid bright yellow on the walls, and instead choose a lemon shade for the units. Team with plenty of fresh white, and add pastel pink for a warm, welcoming feel.

Make a statement with your flooring.

Hexagon tiles are timeless on kitchen floors, but update the look by using two or three soft pastel shades.

Consider a sink island.

Most kitchens are designed with the sink built into wall units, but it makes sense to have it next to your main preparation area - easier for rinsing vegetables and washing hands between jobs.

Make a feature of your crockery.

You've bought plates and mugs you love, so don't hide them away in cupboards - use them as part of the decor. Floor-to-ceiling shelving is ideal for this, creating way more storage than you'd get from a traditional sideboard cabinet, and leaving extra cupboards for the messy stuff, like pans.
