ICC TECHNOLOGIES TO INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING UNIT AT ICE SKATING RINK IN BLOOMINGTON, MINN.; SECOND INSTALLATION IN STATE

PHILADELPHIA, May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- ICC TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (NASDAQ: ICGN), a leading developer of air conditioning and climate control systems for supermarkets, department stores and other commercial and industrial buildings, announced today that the company will be installing its Desi/Air 12,000 system at an ice rink in Bloomington, Minn., enabling to facility to remain open year-round.
The Bloomington site follows the installation of a similar unit at the Blake School ice arena in Hopkins, Minn. The project is supported by a gas rebate provided by Minnegasco, the gas utility.
Most ice skating rinks must close for part of the year due to heat and humidity affecting the ice. By removing the humidity while maintaining a cool and balanced temperature for ice skating, ICC's Desi/Air will provide a more comfortable environment for spectators while helping to maintain optimum ice conditions.
Irwin L. Gross, chairman, said "Our unit was selected for this project because of its ability to dehumidify, heat, provide heat recovery, ventilate the building and provide supplemental cooling all in one package, a cost effective alternative to purchasing separate systems for each function. Because the ICC system is able to separate humidity and control the temperature, it can provide the right climate for the rink no matter what the weather conditions are outside the facility."
Mr. Gross noted that since the Blake School installation, the company has received dozens of inquiries from municipalities, rink designers and contractors regarding the Desi/Air system.
ICC is currently field testing a revolutionary new gas-powered air conditioning system which has no compressor, is completely free of ozone layer destructive refrigerants such as CFCs and operates with more fresh air to eliminate the effects of the "sick building" syndrome.
