ICC TECHNOLOGIES COMPLETES FIRST INTERNATIONAL INSTALLATION THROUGH ISRAELI JOINT VENTURE; SECOND SYSTEM IN PRODUCTION

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- ICC Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ICGN), has installed its DESI/AIR(TM) 8,000 CFM desiccant air conditioner system at the Tiberia Club Hotel in Tiberias, Israel, a resort on the Sea of Galilee, Irwin L. Gross, ICC's chairman, announced today. This is ICC's first international installation and the first by the joint venture established earlier this year between ICC and A.B. Avir, Tel Aviv, Israel to market and manufacture ICC products in Israel and five other Mediterranean countries. A second DESI/AIR unit is being built for installation at a new shopping mall near Tel Aviv.
At the Tiberia Club Hotel, the DESI/AIR unit reduces the operating load of the existing air conditioning system by 14 percent and permits downsizing of the equipment resulting in substantial savings in energy costs. At the same time, it extends the life of the cooling equipment and, by controlling humidity, improves the quality of the air for greater comfort and prevention of mold and mildew during the high humidity summer months.
Mr. Gross said, "We are pleased to implement our international presence and our Israeli partnership and anticipate additional installations in the near future in its region which includes Turkey, Cyprus, Greece and Egypt and also Italy on a non-exclusive basis. ICC's proprietary technologies have many potential applications in a wide variety of commercial and industrial facilities throughout the world where the annual market for air conditioning is estimated to reach $50 billion by the year 2000. In addition to our Mediterranean joint venture, ICC has established another joint venture in the United Kingdom with Dalair, Ltd., and is also exploring the Japanese market."
ICC Technologies is a leading developer of air conditioning and climate control systems for supermarkets, department stores, health care facilities and other commercial and industrial buildings. ICC is field testing a revolutionary new air conditioning system, Desert Cool, that has no compressor and uses not refrigerants. Incorporating a new super desiccant material developed by Engelhard Corporation, Desert Cool provides total air conditioning and climate control.
