Dubai: Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, chairman of the Al Habtoor Group, has been awarded the prestigious 'Golden Friends of India Award' by the Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC) at an award ceremony in Dubai on January 25.
The award was presented by Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, in the presence of members of the royal family and other senior Emirati dignitaries, diplomats and members of the Indian community. Accepting the award on Al Habtoor's behalf was his youngest son Ahmed Al Habtoor, CEO of Al Habtoor Motors.

Khalaf Al Habtoor said: "It was an honour to receive this award from the IBPC. India is very important to the UAE; we have a strong history together and there are a lot of Indian expatriates living and working here."
