IBM unveils translation software.
Worldwide Computer Products News-10 January 2001-IBM unveils translation software (C)1995-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.comIBM has launched a new software product - the IBM WebSphere Translation Server - that is designed to allow companies to provide web pages, e-mail messages and chat conversations in multiple languages, in real time.
Based on IBM's machine translation technology and running on NT, AIX and Solaris, the software supports bi-directional text translation between English and French, German, Spanish and Italian as well as from English to Chinese (both simplified and traditional), Japanese and Korean. Up to 500 words per second can be translated, depending on processor speed and system configuration.
IBM WebSphere Translation Server will be available in March, priced at USD10,000/language pair/processor.
