Worldwide Computer Products News-7 February 2002-IBM reveals new portable computer prototype (C)1995-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.comIBM Corp has revealed the prototype of a new portable computer module that it has developed.
The portable computer module - code-named MetaPad - is 12.7cm long, 7.6cm wide and about 1.9cm thick. It features 128MB DRAM, a 10GB hard drive and an 800MHz processor. The module can be fitted into a unit that has a flat screen on the front and measures 15.2cm long, 10cm wide and 2.5cm thick.
According to IBM, the product could be ready for market in a few years. No pricing details were revealed.
