LAS VEGAS, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- At its first National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) exhibition, IBM debuted its Ultimedia Tools Series, an integrated suite of more than 60 world-class software tools, to the media industry.
The Ultimedia Tools Series includes software from the IBM Personal Software Products division and 30 other vendors. Included are computer- based video editing systems from leading companies such as the Montage Group and TouchVision Systems, as well as a wide range of other video, audio, animation and graphics tools that run on the Operating System/2* (OS/2)(A), Windows(B) and DOS platforms.
The Ultimedia Tools Series provides the broadcast and production industry with a "one-stop shop" that offers a wide range of tested software, pre-sale consulting support to help customers choose the most appropriate product to suit their needs, and post-sale technical support.
"Computer technology offers tremendous opportunities for video professionals today -- opportunities to be more creative, to expand into totally new areas like multimedia, and to do what they already do with fantastic new speed and efficiency," said Karl LaWall, Multimedia Brand Manager for IBM's Personal Software Products Division.
"With the Ultimedia Tools Series, IBM's goal is to provide the broadcast and multimedia industries with immediate access to the most advanced tools available for everything from scriptwriting to on-line video editing and advanced video networking."
The Ultimedia Tools Series was announced by IBM in November, 1992. All Ultimedia Tools Series products are available through MediaSourcery, Inc., Mountain View, CA.
