IBM (NYSE: IBM) announced on 8 August that it has expanded its relationship with AT&T Inc (NYSE: T) and Sprint (NYSE: S) and other mobile wireless carriers after its Lotus Notes Traveller software was certified for use by AT&T and Sprint customers.
The Traveller software can be loaded onto any compatible wireless device pre-configured with settings allowing users to access their Lotus Notes email, calendaring and personal information management (PIM) data.
Specific devices from AT&T are;(the AT&T 8525, AT&T Tilt, Moto Q Global, Palm Treo 750, PantechDuo (Mustang C810), Samsung Blackjack and Samsung Blackjack II (i617)) and from Sprint; (the Touch by HTC(TM), Samsung ACE, Palm Treo(TM) 700wx and Palm Treo(TM) 800w) are reportedly suitable for use with Lotus Notes Traveller.
The announcement follows recent announcements of IBM mobile software such as its collaboration with Research in Motion (RIM) to allow Blackberry devices to integrate with IBM collaborative software.
