     IBM SUBSIDIARY AND UNITED RETAIL GROUP SIGN OUTSOURCING AGREEMENT
    TARRYTOWN, N.Y., July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Integrated Systems Solutions Corporation (ISSC), a wholly owned subsidiary of IBM Corporation (NYSE: IBM), and United Retail Group Inc. (NASDAQ: URGI), Rochelle Park, N.J., today announced the signing of a long-term outsourcing agreement.
    Under the terms of the agreement, ISSC will be responsible for United Retail's data operations using existing systems and applications software.  ISSC also will maintain a data network that links stores to the host computer and will manage state-of-the-art in-store technology equipment at United Retail locations.  United Retail will continue to develop and maintain the applications software at its headquarters.
    United Retail Group Inc. is a public company that operates major retail chains devoted to large-size women's clothing.  The chains are composed of 16 Plus, which has 95 stores; The Avenue, with 155 stores; and Sizes Unlimited, with 233 stores.
