IBM PS/1 386 SX NOVELL CERTIFIED; SMALL BUSINESS CAPABILITIES ENHANCED
 WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM today announced its new Personal System/1(A) 386 SX (PS/1(A)) (model B82 and model C42) is Novell(B) certified. The PS/1 386 SX(A) has been tested and is approved NetWare(B) compatible as a workstation with the following Novell products:
 -- NetWare Lite, version 1.0;
 -- NetWare, version 2.2;
 -- NetWare, version 3.11;
 -- Novell Print Server, version 1.21;
 -- NetWare SNA Token-Ring, version 1.3;
 -- NetWare 3270 LAN Workstation, version 2.0; and
 -- NetWare Link/X.25, version 1.0
 "With Novell certification, the PS/1 386 SX provides growth opportunities for expanding home and small businesses," said Skip Gladfelter, PS/1 marketing manager, for IBM's National Distribution Division.
 "IBM's PS/1 386 SX demonstrated network compatibility during rigorous local area network (LAN) testing," said David Owen, vice president, engineering, Novell, Inc. "The new system will perform extremely well in small LAN environments."
 The PS/1 line's networking capability is also supported by U.S. Sage's(B) network product, MainLan(B). It provides PS/1 owners a low- cost, Ethernet option for small LANs. U.S. Sage offers two Ethernet cards, one that fits into the PS/1's proprietary audio card slot and another that fits into a standard AT expansion slot.
 On Oct. 7, 1991, IBM expanded its PS/1 product line by introducing two new PS/1 386 SX personal computers. IBM also announced it will offer by spring 1992 a PS/1 386 SX pre-loaded with Operating System/2(A) (OS/2(A)) version 2.0.
 The IBM PS/1 is a line of personal computers intended for the home office, work brought home and small business markets. The PS/1s provide a complete package of hardware, software, service and support at attractive prices. The systems were developed in response to comprehensive consumer research that lead to the development of a low- cost IBM PC that is powerful, expandable and easy-to-use.
