 IBM MULTIMEDIA PERSONAL SYSTEM/2 AVAILABLE
 WITH EXPANDED HARD DRIVE FOR SAME PRICE
 WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) announced today that the PS/2(A) Ultimedia(A) M57 SLC, its first desktop multimedia machine, will be available with double the hard drive capacity for additional storage, and at the originally announced price of $5,995.
 The new machine will ship in March with the hard file expanded from 80 megabyte (MB) to 160 MB.
 "Our early users liked all of the unique features of our multimedia machine, but felt that expanding to a 160 MB drive would allow more audio and video storage thus improving the operational aspects by potentially eliminating the need to delete files or to purchase additional storage capacity," said Michael A. Braun, assistant general manager, Multimedia. "We felt that the benefit to our customer was significant enough to replace the 80 MB drive and offer the new M57 at the same price."
 The components of the Ultimedia M57 are pre-packaged, fully integrated, ready to use and expandable. Users have the flexibility of working with IBM Operating System/2(A) (OS/2)(A) Version 2.0, IBM DOS 5.0 and Microsoft Windows(B) 3.0 with Multimedia Extensions -- all of which come pre-loaded on a CD-ROM.
 The machines will initially ship with OS/2 2.0 LAP (Limited Availability Program) code. Customers will be shipped a full OS/2 2.0 CD-ROM with documentation at no charge when it becomes generally available.
 Other features of the IBM PS/2 Ultimedia M57 SLC, include:
 -- The IBM 386 SLC microprocessor;
 -- Extended Graphics Array architecture;
 -- Pre-loaded application sampler, demonstrations and tutorial;
 -- Extended Architecture-enabled CD-ROM drive;
 -- Audio controls on the machine's front panel.
 The Ultimedia system is available through IBM Authorized Multimedia Dealers and the local IBM branch offices.
