IBM EXEC NAMED TO ENTERGY BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Entergy Corporation's

(NYSE: ETR) board of directors announced today the election of Lucie J. Fjeldstad to the board.
The addition of Fjeldstad brings the total number of corporation board members to 14.
Fjeldstad, 48, who resides in Stamford, Conn., is IBM vice president and general manager, Multimedia. She has been with IBM since 1968, beginning as an associate systems analyst. Since then she has risen to a senior management position in an organization containing more than 3,000 employees and with projected worldwide revenues in excess of $3 billion.
Her IBM experience has been characterized by a heavy emphasis on education. Fjeldstad is responsible for much of IBM's business activities in the education industry, particularly products aimed at markets for K-12 schools, higher education, and the "lifetime learning" markets. She is one of IBM's most senior female executives.
According to Edwin Lupberger, Entergy chairman and CEO: "Mrs. Fjeldstad's success in bringing new products forward from the conceptual stage to the marketplace stands as valuable experience, especially as Entergy examines the new business environment that is developing. She will provide us with a fresh point of view from which we will benefit."
In addition to her IBM responsibilities, Fjeldstad also serves as vice chairman of the Board of Regents of Santa Clara University. She is also on the board of KeyCorp and PPG Industries and serves as the IBM Senior Partnership Executive for Syracuse University, and the state of Michigan.
Fjeldstad is a native of California with a B.S. degree in economics/mathematics from Santa Clara University in 1966. She received an M.A. in economics from UCLA in 1967.
