IBM CUTS PRICES ON THINKPAD 300 AND PS/VALUEPOINT BY UP TO 14 PERCENT

 SOMERS, N.Y., Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Providing a quick response to industry changes, the IBM PC Company North America today announced aggressive price cuts of up to 14 percent on the ThinkPad(A) 300 and selected Personal System/ValuePoint(A) systems.
 "These pricing actions are a direct response to actions taken earlier this week by our competition," said Michael Coleman, vice president, marketing and brand management, IBM PC Company North America. "These actions not only show how quickly we can respond, but further demonstrate our continued commitment to our customers to increase our value/price index -- IBM quality, unsurpassed service and support, and full functionality and expandability, now at an even more competitive price."
 Today's pricing includes:
 The IBM ThinkPad 300 featuring the 386SL microprocessor, with 4 megabytes (MB) of random access memory (RAM), and 80 MB hard drive now for $1,999. Same model with a 120 MB hard drive now for $2,199.
 PS/ValuePoint 325T featuring IBM's 25 megahertz (MHz) 386SLC microprocessor, with 8 kilobyte (KB) internal cache, 4 megabytes (MB) of random access memory (RAM), 80 MB hard drive, and 6312 Super Video Graphics Array (SVGA) color display is now for $1,409.
 PS/ValuePoint 425SX based on the 486SX-25 MHz microprocessor, with 4 MB RAM, 120 MB hard drive, PS/ValuePoint 6312 SVGA color display now for $1,499.
 PS/ValuePoint 433DX based on the 486DX-33 MHz microprocessor, with 4 MB RAM, 120 MB hard drive, PS/ValuePoint 6312 SVGA color display now for $1,899.
