IBM AND CORPORATE SOFTWARE TO PROMOTE THE BENEFITS OF OS/2 2.0
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM Corporation (NYSE: IBM) and Corporate Software Incorporated (NASDAQ-NMS: CSOF) today announced an agreement to promote the benefits of OS/2 (See Note A) 2.0 to corporations in the United States. The agreement comprises the development and implementation of marketing programs and services tailored to the evaluation and utilization of OS/2 2.0.
"IBM's selection of Corporate Software to assist in the introduction of OS/2 2.0 to corporations in the United States is recognition of our eight years of success in providing valuable services to corporations," said Randy Burkhart, Corporate Software vice president and general manager, systems and service business unit. "Today, many information systems departments are looking for partners like us to help them efficiently evaluate and migrate to major technological advancements such as OS/2 2.0."
Winnie Briney, vice president, product marketing for IBM's National Distribution Division, said: "Our commitment to OS/2 2.0 is significantly enhanced by this joint effort. We feel Corporate Software is well-positioned to provide today's PC users with the excellent product value, service and support they require."

The advanced platform can run multiple DOS, Windows (See Note B) and 16- and 32-bit applications simultaneously, side-by-side, on the same desktop. Additionally, OS/2 2.0 features an easy-to-use, icon-based graphical user interface (GUI), which utilizes a simple "drag and drop" technique. OS/2 2.0 is scheduled for general availability in March 1992.
Corporate Software has been testing and using OS/2 2.0 beta versions for several months. "I am impressed with the capabilities of OS/2 2.0 as a desktop resource," said Rajesh Patel, technical support specialist.
