IBM'S MULTIMEDIA PUBLISHING STUDIO RELOCATES TO EXPANDED FACILITIES IN ATLANTA'S MIDTOWN AREA

 ATLANTA, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM's Multimedia Publishing Studio has relocated from a North-Atlanta IBM office complex to spacious creative and production facilities in the city's midtown area.
 The move provides the studio with more than 13,000 square feet of space in the Center Stage building, in the heart of Atlanta's performing arts and creative services community.
 Located at 1374 West Peachtree St., the new facility houses the studio's staff and executive offices, as well as complete production facilities for systems development, creative design, programming, testing, video and sound stage production, as well as other multimedia development and publishing activities.
 Dr. Paul Evans, Multimedia Publishing Studio managing publisher, said the move provides much-needed space to support the studio's efforts to become a major factor in the fast-growing multimedia publishing and development markets.
 A unit of IBM's Fireworks Partners, the Multimedia Publishing Studio has a staff of some 50 professionals, including graphic artists, systems developers, programmers, illustrators and creative services and production specialists.
 The Atlanta-based studio is supplier of software products for the multimedia publishing industry, including interactive multimedia programs for large and small systems used in schools, industry and the home.
 The studio also produces films, books and audio-related materials and markets a variety of software titles through its catalog and direct mail programs.
 In recent weeks, the studio has obtaining rights to a wide range of intellectual properties for development and release on interactive compact disc (CD-ROM).
 The materials include the British Broadcasting Company's (BBC) historical files, content from the original "Star Trek" television series, Playboy magazine's high-profile interviews, a series of business titles form the Mescon Group and research and operational data from Biosphere 2, the experimental ecological research program under way near Tucson, Ariz.
 In addition, the studio has already produced a variety of original compact disc titles and others are in production for the consumer, business and info-tainment markets.
