IBEW Local Union 1547.

Larry Bell, a journeyman wireman, IBEW business representative, and second-generation IBEW member, was elected business manager of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 1547 recently.

Bell won in a run-off election and replaces Gary Brooks, who is retiring after 18 years at the helm. Bell, a resident of Alaska for more than 20 years, graduated from the Alaska Joint Electrical Apprenticeship and Training Trust, is currently president of the Anchorage Building Trades Council, and has served as a representative for many labor committees, including vice president and delegate of the Alaska AFL-CIO.
