IAN HYLAND'S TV WEEK: Stun Hill as Todd hits the bottle.
BACK at The Bill (ITV1, Weds & Thurs) and not for the first time Jim Carver is nursing a sore head after a run-in with a vodka bottle.
But before you go jumping to conclusions, this time he hadn't actually been drinking.
Gabriel Kent had hit him with it. Yes, I know, amazing wasn't it? It was as if Todd Carty was getting all the frustration of spending his last five years on EastEnders doing little more than holding an empty bottle of lager in the Vic out in two frenzied swings.
And it was the highlight of a particularly strong week in Sun Hill.
As well as Todd's surprisingly convincing take on brooding evil (whoever knew he had it in him?) there were fantastic performances from Roberta Taylor (Gina Gold), Mark Wingett (Jim) and Trudie Goodwin (June Ackland).
A few weeks back I was less than complimentary about the special live show - and I stand by that.
But after this week's action I have only one thing to say: Flippin' 'eck, Tucker.
