IAN GETS PHILLED IN; Hardman's back with a vengeance.

DESPERATE Phil Mitchell tries squeezing cash out of Ian Beale when he returns to Albert Square.

EastEnders fugitive Phil has been on the run from prison for more than a year. But when he heads home he finds Pat Evans living in his house and Chrissie Watts running the Queen Vic. He hears police sirens and runs into the house of Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) in search of easy pickings. There he demands cash, pushing Ian's head down the toilet and throttling him to force him to pay up.

Steve McFadden, 46, who plays Phil, said: "He throws Ian around like a rag doll. Adam was left with a few injuries. The make-up lady had her work cut out covering up all the bruises."

The scenes will be screened a week tomorrow. Then Phil disappears again but is back for good in the autumn.
