The International Association for Hydrogen Energy (IAHE) has recognised Japan-based Mazda Motor Corporation's (Mazda) (TYO: 7261) Hydrogen Rotary engine with the IAHE Sir William Grove Award.

The IAHE has presented five awards to researchers or organisations that have made significant contributions in areas related to hydrogen energy.

The award honours the automaker's initiatives to advance hydrogen energy, which includes the commercialisation of the world's first hydrogen rotary engine vehicles, and participation in Norway's national HyNor hydrogen project.
