I-FLOW ANNOUNCES FIRST QUARTER INCREASE IN SALES AND UNITS SHIPPED
IRVINE, Calif., April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- I-FLOW Corporation (NASDAQ: IFLO), manufacturer and seller of innovative ambulatory infusion devices, announced today that gross sales and rental income for the quarter ended March 31, 1992 exceeded $210,000. This represents a 156 percent increase over the gross sales and rental income for the previous quarter. Unit replacements (sales, leases and rentals) of the VIVUS 4000 and 4000/2 Infusion Systems increased 205 percent over the same period.
"We are pleased to have achieved this level of revenue and unit- placement growth," commented I-FLOW President and CEO, Donald M. Earhart. "Customers are responding favorably to the productivity and profitability advantages of VIVUS Infusion Systems offer due to their unique features and benefits. The number of patients being treated in the home requiring more than one therapy or more than one drug is growing and we feel the VIVUS 4000 is the best product to meet this increasing need."
I-FLOW is still on schedule to introduce its new disposable drug delivery system in July 1992, subject to obtaining FDA permission to market. This new system is capable of providing low-cost delivery of antibiotics and other small volume drugs in the home, outpatient clinic or hospital. "Our disposable infusion system," said Earhart, will be a breakthrough in economy, convenience and quality-of-life in the ambulatory antibiotic infusion market. Compared to competitive systems, the I-FLOW disposable system will be more convenient for the pharmacist and less intrusive on patients' activities -- and will cost 30 percent to 50 percent less than existing products." I-FLOW is having preliminary discussions with several healthcare companies concerning the licensing and marketing of this new family of products.
I-FLOW Corporation designs, develops, manufactures and markets technically advanced ambulatory infusion systems uniquely well suited to the alternate care environment. Reliable, efficient and easy to use, I-FLOW products offer users substantial opportunities to expand their therapy base, improve quality of care and increase productivity. These advantages translate into improved revenues and profits for healthcare providers while reducing costs and improving the quality of life for patients.
