I-Drive.com Adds ``Sideload" and ``Clip" to Its Web-Based File Service's Builder Tools; New Features Allow Users to Save Dynamic Web Content and Files with the Click of a Mouse.
i-drive.com, the Internet drive company, today launched "Sideload" and "Clip", two new Builders Tools that allow visitors to a site to save files and content directly to i-drive accounts. Sideload makes it easy to save and share downloadable files, and Clip makes it possible to capture and store dynamic Web content. Sideload and Clip are the newest additions to i-drive's Builders Tools for webmasters. Adding Web-based file storage and management tools is an easy way for webmasters to add value to a site and extend the relationship between visitors and the site's content. All of i-drive's Builders Tools are free and easy to integrate into any site. Sideload and Clip are currently available at http://www.idrive.com.
"Our goal is to add Web-based file storage to every site on the Web," said Jeff Bonforte, CEO of i-drive.com. "i-drive's Builders Tools are a collection of features we believe are important to create sites that are compelling, convenient and practical. Sideload and Clip are examples of how i-drive is enhancing users' ability to store and manage files and Web content."
About Builders Tools
Builders Tools are specialized Web-based tools with which webmasters can add file storage and management services to a site. Current Builders Tools include: Sideload, Clip and Link. i-drive's Builders Tools require no client side software and work across all platforms. All Builders Tools are free and integrating them is a simple cut and paste process.
Sideload allows visitors to instantly transfer files from a site to an i-drive account. Visitors simply click the "Sideload to i-drive" link on the site, enter their account information and the file is theirs. Sideload allows Web builders to offer functions resembling those offered by i-drive's partnership with MP3.com (NASDQ: MPPP). Any site that publishes information but does not want to archive can offer the Sideload feature to their users.
Clip allows visitors to save any Web-based content to an i-drive account. By clicking the "Clip to i-drive" link, users can easily save Web pages and keep all the links and meta-tags intact. Any page can be clipped, from flight confirmations to fantasy football updates. Once clipped, a page's links to images and other pages remain valid; a clipped page is a snapshot that maintains its relationships to other information on the Web.
Link allows users to connect their sites directly to the contents in their i-drive shared folders. Link is a user-friendly way to add file storage to any Web site. Visitors to a site will be able to download or send files directly to and from the i-drive account without the hassles of email attachments or complex FTP servers.
