I was shot in the head.

A WOMAN shot in the face in a sickening airgun attack said yesterday: "I'm lucky to be alive."

Claire Ewen, 23, was walking to a pal's house earlier this year when thugs blasted a pellet into her eye.

Doctors fear an operation to remove it will cause too much damage, so the pellet could be stuck in her skull forever.

Claire, from Aberdeen, said: "The doctors told me I could have been killed. It's shocking that someone could do that to another human being."

Police are still investigating.

Claire spoke out to support an airgun and replica gun campaign by Grampian Police.

Special bins are being set up at police stations so guns can be dropped off anonymously.
