I wand you to keep on giving; MIRIAM'S MAKE A WISH CHARITY PLEA.
TV'S Miriam O'Callaghan yesterday urged people not to forget charity - despite the economic misery.
The RTE personality, 49, said: "I know there's a recession in Ireland but some causes are so worthwhile and people should not forget about them. They need all the help that they can get."
The mother-of-eight dressed up as a Fairy Godmother and hit Dublin's St Stephen's Green Shopping Centre to launch the Fairy and Make A Wish Christmas Campaign.
The Make A Wish Foundation has been running for seven years and tries to make magical wishes come true for children battling life-threatening illnesses.
Prime Time host Miriam said: "It's a great charity. Being a mother myself I could not pass up the chance to make a sick child's life a bit better and get involved with the Make A Wish Foundation.
"I am so proud to come along and help.
"This is my third year helping now, I just couldn't turn it down. When I was asked to do it I had to say yes, I think that it's a great cause.
"If I could just make a small difference to one child's life then it's worthwhile.
"There's so many children out there that need our help, the most important thing to me is that children are healthy and happy."
The charity strives to make sick children's wishes come true but they still need everyone's help and support so they can do so.
A spokesman for The Make A Wish Foundation said: "Make A Wish cannot add days to a child's life but we can add life to a child's days.
"A wish is as powerful as a child's own imagination so whether their wish is to be a princess, or a zoo-keeper for a day, or meeting their favourite celebrity, we can help to make it happen.
"But we do need all the help that we can get to make a sick child's life that little bit brighter."
TO support the foundation simply purchase the special Princess Ella Fairy washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets in store now to help this charitable campaign.
