I used to make lunch for Oprah!

WORK experience can mean making tea for the boss or filing papers away.

But one Welsh workie found herself serving lunch to Oprah Winfrey, meeting Robert Redford and interviewing Robert De Niro!

Brushing shoulders with the stars was all in a day's work for Sophia Holland-Thomas, 23, when she landed a coveted internship in New York.

Working at a post-production firm, she met all the stars and was soon hired to help with promotions and do voice-overs. Sophia became the voice of Aston Martin in America for a new commercial and appeared in Google's Lady Gaga advert.

"Oprah Winfrey was terrifying," Sophia says. "I was basically her PA. It's not the jovial thing you get on the television show. Behind the scenes, it's really down to business."

Sophia got her big break when she was asked to film New York's Tribeca Film Festival, founded by Robert De Niro and others in response to 9/11.

"I was so scared but he was the loveliest man."

And there was no doubt who she was booking in when Robert Redford appeared at her desk or Susan Sarandon came to shoot a milk advert.

Sophia, who went to Stanwell School in Penarth, applied for the work experience through the Mountbatten Foundation. She started work with a London post-production company this week.
