I sty a fortune.

PEPPA Pig has overtaken Thomas The Tank Engine as Britain's best-selling pre-school toy.

The five-year-old porker sold pounds 200million worth of official merchandise last year.

And the cartoon character could become even bigger than Pinky, Perky or Miss Piggy, with experts predicting a billiondollar a year bonanza after a new deal to appear in America.

Programme makers EOne have sold the series, which airs on Channel 5 in the UK, to NickJnr for broadcast across the States.

EOne chief executive Darren Throop said: "Pre-school has the best chance of success in multi-territories because they are under two. They have their own point of view and it is not distorted by culture."
