I had sex with Currie in Major's office; THIRD LOVER REVEALED.
EDWINA Currie had a steamy affair with a Tory aide while she was bedding John Major, it was revealed last night.
She even had sex with married Peter Clarke, left - her third lover to emerge so far - in Major's office at the House of Commons.
She seduced him with the chat-up line: "Would you like to see my Peak District?" - a reference to her Derbyshire constituency.
But Tory adviser Clarke had to end the affair because he couldn't stand the pace. He told friends it was sheer "physical fatigue".
The 53-year-old Scot believes the illicit relationship may have cost him the chance of becoming an MP. But he is just the latest Currie conquest to emerge. Her diaries reveal another mystery lover she describes as a "slob" with "kinky preferences".
Last night a close friend said Clarke had been "besotted" with the former junior minister. He is said to have confided that Edwina was "an accomplished flirt".
One of her favourite opening lines was said to be: "Would you like to come up and see my manifesto?"
Speaking of Edwina's sexual appetite, Clarke once revealed: "She was quite athletic. I just closed my eyes and thought of Scotland."
The affair between Edwina and Clarke, who had known each other at Oxford in the 1970s, lasted a few weeks. He believes rumours of the fling and a poison pen letter scuppered his ambitions to become an MP for Lothian.
At the time - 1986 - Clarke was a speech writer for Tory minister for education and science Keith Joseph. The letter, sent to the Tories' Scottish HQ, said: "I think you could make some mischief by letting it be known your Peter Clarke and Edwina Currie the Derby MP are having a torrid affair.
"The cleaners at the House of Commons have complained about the damp patches on her mock leather chairs in her room.
"He is telling his political chums he is exhausted by her demands." Clarke, who lives with his wife Gillian in the Scottish Borders, is now a writer and political commentator.
Friends said yesterday he was "outraged" that his career was sunk by the affair while Major went on to become PM.
Last night Ms Currie could not be contacted to comment on the new revelations.
