I can't get rid of my blackheads. Help!

STEP 1: STOP POWER WASHING

Using a harsh exfoliator every day won't clear your complexion. "Scrubbing only irritates the skin," says Susan C. Taylor, MD, of KidsSkinHealth.org.

STEP 2: START A NEW ROUTINE

Falling asleep before washing your face is officially a no-no. Keep facial cloths in your sleepover and gym bags to avoid letting dirt sit.

STEP 3: PICK THE PERF CLEANSER

"Select a cleanser with ingredients such as salicylic acid or alpha hydroxy acid to unplug debris from pores," she tells us. Pat skin dry with a paper towel.

STEP 4: RESIST THE URGE TO PICK

Digging at blackheads makes the prob worse. And pass by those pore strip kits. Dr. Taylor says there's no proof they help. Don't see an improvement in six weeks? Head to a dermatologist.
