I can't deal with his temper any longer.

Byline: Dear Coleen

Dear Coleen, I NEED some advice on my boyfriend's temper problem. He blows up over the smallest issue and then sulks for days and won't talk to me.

When his temper finally disappears after weeks of sulking and ignoring my efforts to smooth things over, he says he didn't mean it.

In the two-and-a-half years we've been together I've lost my temper with him three times but he sees red over anything. I don't know how to handle it and I don't know if I want to handle it any more. What should I do? Coleen says.. BEING with someone like this is incredibly draining. Don't wait until the next time he loses his temper before discussing it and be honest that you can't put up with it.

Suggest that he either goes to anger management counselling or when he loses his temper he goes to stay with a friend until he calms down. I don't blame you for saying you don't know whether you can put up with this any longer - it's very hard to live your life on eggshells.

And the aftermath of a row, with all the sulking, drains the life out of you.

If he really loves you and wants your relationship to work, then he'll find some help to try to change.

If he's not willing to make that effort, then I'd advise you to walk away now.
