I WAS fascinated to read [...]; FEEDBACK.

I WAS fascinated to read about Richart Sowa's self-construction of an island in Mexico (The Gazette, 10.11.14).

Middlesbrough-born Richart appears to have built a paradise on earth from air-filled plastic bottles, wooden pallets and sand.

Living on a floating island may appear to be a peculiar abode; different yes - but just envisage the peace, the beautiful sound of silence that surrounds his island, surrealism encompassing.

Joyxee Island, as he calls it, may not be everyone's dream home but I am very impressed by it. Absolutely.

Picture the calm water, the comely scenery, the azure sky, the balmy climate - it sounds like heaven.

Whatever, I can't see Richart rushing back to Middlesbrough in a hurry.
