A FOUL-MOUTHED weighing machine told one woman she was a "fat pig" and called another man a "fat c***".

Stunned Bruce Hamilton had stepped on the scales in a busy shopping centre to see how much he had put on over Christmas.

The dad of two said: "I was astounded. I thought I'd put on a little - but I didn't think I deserved that!

"Some people could have been devastated and deeply offended."

A printout from the machine told Bruce he was a "little overweight".

But at the bottom, in capital letters, the machine added: "FAT C***".

It's thought hackers reprogrammed the scales, in a shopping mall in Melbourne, Australia, after spying a secret password used by technicians.

Scales supplier Ian Sargent said: "Normally they carry nice messages, such as Merry Christmas. It's just been a cruel practical joke."
