I've learned my lesson; LETTERS.

I THOUGHT the Monday Jury, with one notable exception, was unfair and uninformed in the assessment of Winx.

At the heart of the reservations was that Winx had not come to Europe and therefore had not proved herself against the best yardsticks.

When winning the 2015 Cox Plate in devastating fashion Winx had Highland Reel almost six lengths behind in third. I know because I backed Highland Reel, subsequently a King George winner and Arc second. Hartnell finished almost ten lengths behind Winx.

Come the 2016 Cox Plate, I had not learned my lesson and backed Vadamos, who arrived at Moonee Valley on the back of a Group 1 second to Ribchester - beaten less than a length - and a comfortable Chantilly Group 1 victory. Winx possibly surpassed her 2015 win by comfortably beating Hartnell by eight lengths, with Vadamos almost two lengths further back.

Winx is a superstar - and I have learned my lesson!
